My journey into helping people in pain began when I trained as a McTimoney Chiropractor, graduating in 2003.
In 2002 I began training with the Upledger Institute UK and have worked my way to Advanced level and continue to attend courses to increase my skills. I used both techniques in my therapy practice before deciding to specialise in Craniosacral Therapy.
I am particularly interested in the effects of emotional stress and anxiety on the physical body. The way we respond to stresses in our lives causes us to adopt postures and movement patterns that can cause tension and pain in our body, for example a situation may be 'a pain in the neck'.
Craniosacral Therapy is able to gently bring awareness to these patterns and so help restore normal function to the body and mind.
I live in the beautiful Esk Valley with a small flock of Coloured Ryeland sheep, horses and various poultry. I love walking with my dogs, painting and writing.
I have developed a wildflower meadow and continue to improve my surroundings for the benefit of wildlife and nature.
Please note that I no longer practice as a chiropractor. If you are seeking chiropractic treatment please search under the General Chiropractic Council, Mctimoney Chiropractic Association and British Chiropractic Association websites.
